This extraordinary gin was created as a tribute to the 1736 Gin Act historical event, using Van Toor’s own 100% malt wine Genever as raw material, which is then combined with classic 18th-century gin botanicals such as angelica, orris root, cilantro seed and violet root added during the final distillation. The result is an explosion of flavor that unfolds in several layers. In order to hold the essential oils, the 1736 Gin act is bottled at a higher ABV of 45%. This is the ideal addition to a gin and bottle collection.
VL92 XY Gin is made at the Van Toor Distillery in Vlaardingen, born of the quest of two entrepreneurs to find their ultimate gin. Built upon a malt wine foundation, VL92 Gin has its roots in the Dutch Genever tradition. The malt wine gives it its boldness; its complexity derives from the play between botanical elements that finish with the eccentric, citrusy endnote of a most surprising ingredient: coriander leaf.
