Located in the heart of the Gers, since 1929, the Gimet distillery produce and select exceptionnal brandies from the best french terroirs. Armagnac is the oldest French brandy. It is produced in the South West of France, in the heart of Gascony. It is obtained through a distillation of white wine in an Armagnac still and aged for years in oak barrels before being released.
Our Armagnac is aged in sweet wine cask which gives it smoothness and character. In order to preserve its personality, no blends are being performed; it thus maintains its natural alcohol degree straight from the barrel. This brandy has not been chill filtrated and comes from a single barrel. Vintage available at request.
Gimet Armagnac 1978 is made from white wine distilled in traditional Armagnac copper stills that are nearly a hundred years old. Aged in sweet wine cask, bottled at cask strength from a single barrel, non-chill filtered, with numbered bottles. Only 450 bottles were produced. Gimet Armagnac 1978 is non-blended, this retains the natural alcohol volume from the barrel therefore Gimet is bottled at cask strength. Non-chill filtered in order to preserve its organoleptic characteristics; this lack of filtration can lead to residual elements in the bottle, which is natural.
