This beautiful and extremely rare Graham's 1940 Single Harvest Tawny Port nicknamed "The Master" was aged for an incredible 79 years in seasoned oak cask before being bottled in 2019! Bottled from Cask# 1 and producing only 226 bottles in total, this ia true rarity and a chance to taste an outstanding wine produced before World War 2. Graham’s produced both outstanding Vintage Ports (aged in bottle) and Tawny Port (aged in oak casks). This Old Tawny Port epitomizes Graham’s hallmark complexity, elegance and balance. The wine was made from grapes grown at Graham’s flagship Douro Valley vineyard in northern Portugal: Quinta dos Malvedos.
A special release of 656 bottles of a Port that dates back to the arrival of Andrew James Symington in Portugal in 1882. Now 130 years later his direct descendants have bottled one of the remaining three barrels.
This extraordinary wine has been bottled in an individually numbered, hand-made crystal decanter designed by Portugal’s leading glass manufacturer Atlantis. Made from a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley, such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. Aged up to 5 years in oak casks in the wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia Then the wine is drawn off and bottled after a light filtration in bottles.

This 30-year-old Porto is the result of craftsmanship, time-honored skills, and dedication, each cask is carefully selected by Graham's Master Blender. A variety of grapes such Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinto Cao are fermented with natural yeast and matured in oak barrels for over 30 years.
