This time the monkey distillery chose Achillea moschata or musk yarrow found in the Swiss canton of Grisons. The plant, also known as "Iva" by local Romansh speakers, is used to cure ailments such as indigestion. It only grows between July and September and is rich in resinous, balsamic, sweet aromas. Monkey 47 Distiller's Cut 2017 is handcrafted, double distilled, matured for three months in stoneware containers, and blended with soft spring water from the Black Forest. This bottle is part of the Distiller's Cut series, an annual edition showcasing a "Species Rara" or special ingredient that compliments the 47 traditional botanicals in the gin. Limited edition of 4000 numbered bottles, presented in a wooden case, making it an excellent bottle for gin collectors, gin enthusiasts and bartenders.
